Meeting point: Sławkowska street 6A
Duration: 4 h
Ride into a not so distance past of Poland's communist era. Nowa Huta is located only 9km from the meeting point and with a new dedicated bike path it’s very safe and accessible.
You will see the old military air base that was used before planes were invented and which divided Nowa Huta from Krakow. Your first major site in Nowa Huta is the church of Our Lord's Ark in which you will see religious art mixed with socialism.
From there you ride through the labyrinth of streets sprinkled with communist housing before riding along a lake and Nowa Huta's recreational center. Minutes away is the steel mill plant that led to the creation of Nowa Huta, the city built to house its workers.
On your return you stop for lunch in a traditional milk bar still running from the times of Joseph Stalin. After you ride through Ronald Reagan square you finish the tour off via a bike path along the river.
