Thanks to 1993 film directed by Steven Spielberg, which takes place in Krakow during World War II, the world became aware of one of the most moving and incredible stories related to World War II.
In June 2010, after years of preparation, the Schindler’s Factory Museum opened its doors to the public. The Museum is located in the original Oskar Schindler Enameled Goods Factory. Visitors are taken back step by step to World War II times learning its history from the beginning up until the arrival of the Soviet Army by walking through rooms filled with memories of Oscar Schindler.
The Museum is one of Krakow’s most important sites and an essential point for those who want to learn the city’s history.
The permanent exhibition “Kraków under Nazi Occupation 1939-1945” lets the visitors learn the story about Krakow and its inhabitants, both Polish and Jewish, during World War II.
