Located in Porto Cristo these caves are recognized worldwide for their spectacular stalactites and stalagmites, shaped hooks, hence the name of the caves ‘Hams’, in Mallorcan meaning hooks. They were discovered by D. Pedro Caldentey in 1905 and were the first caves to open to the public of Spain in 1910, already having an electrical installation, for the visit.

The incomparable beauty of these caves, as highlighted by the artistic lighting by D. Lorenzo Caldentey, son of the discoverer, are amazing to see. The caves consist of 12 galleries and the underground lake ‘Sea of Venice’ offers the spectacle musical ‘Magical Mozart’ a special tribute to the famous composer. The caves of Hams are one of the main tourist attractions in Mallorca.

In the blue cave you can enjoy the educational documentary ‘Discovering the past’. This is about the history of Mallorca, its first inhabitants, and the formation of the caves of Hams. You can admire the columns of Samson, Fra Mauro Plains and the pit of hell, where the natural audience, will be offered to view ‘Genensis, the story of life’ a ‘time lapse’ musical, giddy from the Big Bang until today, giant projection of the rock care.
