What to explore in Krakow
Krakow, one of the oldest cities in Poland is the country’s tourism jewel.
At its heart lies the magnificent Rynek Glowny which is the largest medieval market square in Europe and is dominated by the Renaissance Cloth Hall in the centre. Nearby lie the district of Kazimierz, well known for its renaissance buildings and picturesque streets and Jewish district, and the Wawel Castle which commands a view over the Vistula river below.
The old town is probably best explored on foot and a guided tour will allow you to discover the highlights. Bike tours will take you further afield and a scooter rental will allow you the freedom to explore as you wish. Or enjoy the flexibility of the hop on hop off bus.
Further afield, many visitors to this region come to see the site of the former Auschwitz concentration camp or the salt mine at Wieliczka, both of which can be reached on a day tour from Krakow.
In the evening Krakow’s old town streets are filled with bars, cafes and restaurants as well as theatres, concerts and folk show options.
Discover more with your Krakow city pass in this historical city where you have the possibility to enjoy many of these attractions for free or with an attractive discount.
